How to go viral on YouTube?

Every creator wants to go viral on YouTube but most are not sure how. Below are actual steps you can take to increase the likelihood of reaching 1,000,000 viewers.

1. Focus on sharing

The easiest way to go viral is by people sharing your video. Imagine if 5k people share your video with 200 friends, then you will reach 1,000,000 viewers. BUT why will they share? You should not hope for sharing but make a plan for it.

For example, some creators give out their phone number at the end of the video and say they will personally VIDEO reply to everyone who texts them until a certain date. This is clever because it will surprise viewers that you actually reply to them. Then ask the viewer to share your video because you will reply to EVERYONE who texts you before the specified date. This way viewers feel like they are helping their friends instead of you!

2. Create inherently viral content

The videos that get shared the most have something SHOCKING, FUNNY, or cause ANGER. Thus, ask yourself which of these elements does your video have? For example the YouTube channel SSSniperWolf gets 4-7 million views per video because she only reviews VIRAL TIK TOKS. Thus, she is curating shocking and crazy tik toks in her videos which people already love to watch and share.

3. Collaborate with other YouTubers

Many people never take advantage of this strategy but they should. You can create a video with 2-3 other YouTubers who have a similar subscriber base to yours. Then once the video is created all 3 people should share it to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. This allows you to reach the audience of other YouTubers for free.

4. Think about who would share your video and why

The key is to have people who WANT to share your video. You can’t force them to share, they have to have a desire to share.

For example, you can integrate mid level brands and products into your video and then ask those brands to SHARE your video on THEIR social media. This is a clever way to reach A LOT of people because brands would be excited to show off their products used by a creator. Make sure the brands/products are not Fortune 500 companies but smaller/mid level ones who are easier to reach.

5. Create shorter videos

Make sure your video is less than 10 minutes if you want to go viral. The longer the video, the less people will finish it. Think about how to make your video more action and less filler.

6. Hook the viewer in the first 15 seconds

Make sure your video is less than 10 minutes if you want to go viral. The longer the video, the less people will finish it. Think about how to make your video more action and less filler.
