When i saw the flyer of the show way five days ahead of time, i said “sane ɛba” simply put, what a difficult night it would be. Asem aba!
The purpose of yesterday’s show by the producers on utv, was to create a buzz, sensation, jam, occupy the media space between 9pm till 12.18 am, be the most talked about ,trending, controversial, dramatic show etc. Fortunately, they achieved it especially on the social media space where on Facebook, they started with 730 views, hit 8.5k and finally landed at 5k.
There were a lot of activities on the night vying for the same viewers attention with the opening of a Celebrity Studio powered by Kofi TV hovering around 800, the VGMA’S powered by TV3 also having its fair share around 700.
MCBROWN THE HOSTESS.
Those calling for the head of the hostess, “forgeti” in the voice of Stonebwouy. Nana Ama Mcbrown is the “owner” of the show. Her aura and persona, attracts viewers, sponsors like the bees getting attracted to honey. She only needs to be groomed, monitored, tutored, directed well and she will fly. This August, will be 2 years since the inception of the show. She has a lot of flaws but, can get better if she is ready to learn. Mcbrown is not a trained show host. Let’s allow her to meander through the learning process.
Like you wanted her to cage Shatta Wale yesterday? Far from she getting a gift of $500 from Shatta, it was not a bait for her to kowtow to the whims and caprices of the “santrofie” Shatta who is a difficult guest!
Shatta graduated from his acting, semantics and self delusion skills since he appeared on the “By the fire side” series several years ago. Herrrr, “ahuna huna paa nie”.
The purpose of Shatta Wale on the show was for business, to announce his come back after his “tour”, subsequent release of a song, to deflate the “supposed antagonistic” posturing of Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo balloons which had had a solo flight on the program earlier.
Why does Shatta think that, having a house, money and commanding followers means he is the “Primus inter pares” that is the “first among equals”? Describing Arnold as not having a house and his awkward shoe( ne shoe tantan) was absolutely nonsense, uncouth and uncivilized.
Don’t consider yourself as a successful farmer when you haven’t entered someone’s farm. The self aggrandizement is becoming too petty of him.
His “Mr Tee’s” blinks(platinum chains) on his neck were disturbing his lapel mic given some awful kinks in the ears. His advocacy for entertainers to look sharp on the business angle and touring of other regions by artiste is a laudable idea. Shatta Wale is an enigma.
ARNOLD, HALIFAX AND KOFI ASAMOAH.
Arnold stood on his ground and reiterated his earlier submission as Shatta being the most inconsistent artiste of our time. He was well composed and bantered Shatta boot for boot! He was frustrated at a point when Mcbrown refused him his rebuttals to Shatta’s effusions. Things became calm after the end of the second commercial break.
Halifax Ansah-Addo, interjected to calm the nerves of the wounded lion, Shatta with some few “Ga” words to assuage the already charged and volatile environment. Good counselor. Lol
Kofi Asamoah was virtually non existent on the show but, chipped in one or two comments to embellish the show.
Fadda Dickson and Kennedy Osei, big ups on the executive production. Ink dey inside!
In the voice of the controversial Twene Jones, one minute biara ” na have you built a house nam mu” from Shatta. Boi! Nation builders. Lol
Utv, it is all about you. See you in the next edition.
