Court place Injunction on Barima Sidney ‘Papa No’ Official Video Release

Musician Sidney Oppong Ofori drops a song title ‘ Papa No’ in some weeks past when that word is making waves in Ghana after two young ladies by the name Tracey Boakye and Mzbel was fighting about ‘Papa No’.

Some document trending on social media on 2nd September 2020 indicates that The Superior Court of Judicature in The High Court of Justice Accra – AD2020 – Nima Accra has Motion On Notice for an Order Interlocutory Injection on the release of The ‘Papa No’ Video.

Barima Sidney dragged to court over ‘Papa No’ song

Ghanaian musician, Barima Sidney, has been slapped with a lawsuit over his new song titled ‘Papa No’.

Astonished about the fact that his song was not directed at anybody in particular, Sidney said the fact that people attached pictures of some personalities to his song attracted the legal suit.

“When I released this song, people were reading meanings into it. I never mentioned anybody’s name in the song. We are all looking for the ‘Papa No’ and we all don’t have any clue of him.

All over social media, people were attaching some images to my song.

Pictures of some high profile personalities like that of the former president Mahama who has nothing to do with the song was used. It’s not fair that I haven’t mentioned anybody’s name and yet I’ve been dragged to court.

I know nothing about this and for that matter my management is releasing a press statement to that effect,” he told Okayfm’s Halifax.

The ‘Ghana Money’ hit maker also seized the opportunity to warn the public to desist from linking his song with any personality or image.

“Those of you adding pictures to the song pls stop it. Don’t tag my song with any personality. I don’t know who the Papa No is I only stated what he does.”

‘Papa No’ surprisingly found its way into popular Ghanaian lexicon after it was first used by Kumawood actress Tracey Boakye in her public social media banter with Mzbel.

Tracey Boakye, in her rants, alleged that a certain man (translated in akan as ‘Papa No’) had

taken good care of her ever since she gave birth to that man’s daughter, her 3-month old baby.

Interestingly, it appears NPP foot soldiers have already adopted the song, obviously for political capital, as many of them were identified sharing the song on social media, with various political commentaries.

Tracey Boakye and MzBel drop each other’s dirty secrets during fight over married man

The feud started gaining public attention when the Kumawood actress went ballistic on a

40+ old rival. Hours after Tracey’s nasty rants, it emerged that she was referring to MzBel and the

40-year-old singer has replied her in an equally dramatic way.

According to Tracey, the married man in question has ditched MzBel to come for her, therefore,

she has been bitter and attempting to tarnish her image. She added that the unnamed man

out of love for her has gifted her more properties that he didn’t give MzBel.

He said it is out of mistake that slept with you once so I should forgive him,” Tracey said.

But according to Mzbel, the married man in question has now shunned Tracey and she

thinks she (MzBel) is the one who caused it.

The singer also added that the actress is pissed over her new house over rumours that the man bought it for her.

Advising Tracey, she said, “someone’s husband, if you are chopping him and others are

chopping him too, you don’t publicly fight over him, you chop and keep quiet“. Shaming

her rival, she added that “they claim their success is out of handwork but it’s from somebody’s husband“.

Tracey, a mother of two, fired back at MzBel accusing her of also blackmailing men to make

money. She went ahead to allege that MzBel even blackmailed a popular man of God and was

paid “500 million” yet she still exposed him.
