Like every other group, it may only take great minds and willingness to achieve a set goal and it was not different from the story of GMB United…
The spread of the deadly Coronavirus which has undeniably caused an economic breakdown and virtually put the entire world and its activities to a halt couldn’t put the thinking abilities of the Royal Queendom (GMB UNITED) to a halt but rather gave these beautiful Queens the wherewithal to do something to help their society and country.
A lot of deliberations started right from the very minutus Executive group, discussions on how best to reach out in these difficult times.
As the culturally inclined family that we are, the Executive in a quest for knowledge, took advice from the Twi adage `Nyansa nni )baakofo) trimu ‘ and quickly run to the corporate page for an intensive discussion.
The Royal Queendom didn’t ignore the plea of the Executives to come on board with more idea but sedulously came on board many great ideas…
More than enough discussions went on, with lots of genius ideas put on the drawing board and a decision made to produce FDA approved Face masks to distribute amongst our strongest fan base…`The Market Women’.
Contributions were made financially by the Queendom for the production of one thousand pieces of Face Masks.
Upon further deliberations, five major markets within the two Greater Regions of Ghana (Accra and Kumasi) were selected to benefit from this project, focusing on the covid -19 hot spot areas within these regions.
Four Markets in Greater Accra region and one in Greater Kumasi region; Madina Market, Makola Market, Kaneshie Market, Ashaiman Market, Kejetia Market ,
benefited from interacting with the past Queens and contestants of Ghana’s Most Prestigious pageant; Ghana’s Most Beautiful on a rather gloomy, rain-threatening Saturday afternoon on the 27th day of June 2020 which was gracefully successful.
