Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale and producer GuiltyBeatz have earned nominations at the 62nd Grammy Awards thanks to their contributions to Beyonce’s The Lion King; The Gift.
The Lion King; The Gift was nominated in the Best Pop Vocal Album category
Shatta Wale featured on the song ‘Already’ alongside Beyonce and Major Lazor.
The audio of Already has close to 6 million views on YouTube (as at the time story was posted).
This marks Shatta Wale’s first-time being part of the Grammys despite charting at number 8 on the Billboard (World Chart) with his 2018 album ‘Reign’.
For GuiltyBeatz, the nomination comes after putting in a lot of work in 2019. The producer worked on three songs off the Album.

The Lion King: The Gift is a soundtrack album by American singer Beyoncé for the 2019 photorealistic animated remake of The Lion King. It was released on July 19 by Parkwood under exclusive license to Columbia. The album was produced and curated by Beyoncé and includes appearances from Jay-Z, Blue Ivy Carter, Childish Gambino, Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar, Tierra Whack, 070 Shake, Blue Ivy Carter and Jessie Reyez, as well as African artists such as Wizkid, Shatta Wale, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Busiswa and Salatiel, among others
The Grammy Awards will be held on Monday 27th January 2020.
