The 9th edition of the Radio and TV Personality Award will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday October 12, 2019. One of the top television personalities nominated the awards is Metro TV’s Michael Kofi Oduro who is competing for the Sports Show Host of the Year.
As major favourite to win the category last year, the ace sports broadcaster lost to Adom TV’s Countryman Songo to the surprise of many. Asked whether he will pull out of the awards if he misses out for the second time running, Michael responded to the media saying “I do not think awards paint the true picture of who necessarily is the best, but recognition by way of award has a way of motivating you and also bringing that satisfaction everyone desires. It is not a do or die so that if you don’t win, you have to criticize or insult the organizers.”
The compelling content aired on Sports Direct and Sports file coupled with the extensive coverage of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations makes Michael Kofi Oduro a top favouirte to pick up the award despite competing with last year’s winner Countryman Songo, Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Kokui Serlomey, Thiery Nyann and Sports Obama.
Sports Direct hosted by Michael is also nominated for the Television Sports Show of the year.
