A pro-LGBT book published in 2014 containing obscene sexual descriptions is reprobate being promoted in the youth sections in libraries in Australia, according to reports. The book called “Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speaks Out” includes the story of a 6-year-old enjoying oral sex.
Additionally, the book is also being promoted in the youth sections of at least 60 Australian libraries, according to Binary Australia – an organization that states “the fact that gender is binary.” “From six up, I used to kiss other guys in my neighborhood, make out with them, and perform oral sex on them.
I liked it. I used to love oral,” reads an excerpt from the book shared by Binary Australia. “And I touched their you-know-whats. We were really young, but that’s what we did.”
Binary Australia Director, Kirralie Smith, said, “The book is in approximately 60 libraries in Australia. I found the book in my local library: Greater Taree Library — two copies in Taree and Wingham,” according to toa report from The Daily Caller.
“I know it is in the nest region in Port Macquaire as well. The book was on a promotional stand in Taree Library in the youth section.”
The book focuses on six young adults as they grapple with their transgender identities. CBS News asked author Susan Kuklin about the controversy of libraries featuring books like hers in 2014:
“I think it’s the outsider. You know, it’s whatever part of our society that mainstream Americans still feel some discomfort with,” she said. Smith added in a statement:
“These stories are being promoted to young people who may not have the capacity to judge whether this is good or bad behavior. And despite the illicit nature of their accounts, each concludes by celebrating their transition.”
“Such material has no place in tax-payer funded libraries and should certainly never be promoted to children.”
The news comes a week after a drag queen was filmed teaching children sexually provocative “twerk” dance moves during a so-called “story hour” event at a local library in the UK.
During a “Drag Queen Story Hour” event at a library in North Devon, drag artist “Mama G” was caught on camera showing kids how to perform the gyrating “twerking” dance.
During the short clip, the books appear to remain on the shelves. Last week, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) signed a new bill into law making LGBT history mandatory in school curriculums in the state.
According to the new legislation: “In public schools only, the teaching of history shall include a study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State.”
The new law will take effect on July 1, 2020.
