Rapper M.anifest is unhappy with how some media houses in have been reporting crime stories by giving such stories nationality colouration.
M.anifest’s frustration stems from how quick Ghanaian media are to point fingers at Nigerians for various crimes happening in Ghana.
According to the Feels hitmaker, it is wrong for the media “to finger-point and headline Nigerians for crime in Ghana, even when Ghanaians are also involved”.
He noted: “crime has no nationality. We want ‘other’ people who look like us. Complain when it happens abroad. Do better,” he told the media.
M.anifest’s statement comes in the wake of the arrest of two Nigerians and five Ghanaians in connection with the kidnapping of two Canadian nationals at Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
“It’s irresponsible for Ghanaian media to be quick to finger point and headline Nigerians for crime in Ghana, even when Ghanaians are also involved. Crime has no nationality. We want to “other” people who look like us. Complain when it happens to us abroad. DO BETTER,” his post read.
