Veteran highlife musician, Rex Omar, has come clear on alleged rumours that he was in an amorous relationship with fellow musician, Akosua Agyapong.
“I married very early, so, before we came together as NAKOREX, Abiba was there, so, there was no way and since then, the three of us are still friends, even on Wednesday May 30, I was with Amandzeba Nat Brew the whole day, Amandzeba has been like my senior brother,” he continued.
Rex Omar said he has four children, three girls and one boy, “with Abiba my wife”. According to him, he is very principled and very much attached to music, hence not distracted by women. “I think, perhaps, I’m too much married to my music, so, it took my attention from women,” Rex Omar, whose ‘Abiba’ song became a hit noted. Nat Brew later married Akosua Agyapong but their union collapsed.
Rex Omar is an award-winning singer, songwriter and arranger. He is currently chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) and a member of the Joint Committee of Collective Management Organisations (JCCMOs).
