Talented Ghanaian comedian, Derrick Kobina Bonney, widely known as DKB over the weekend managed to get the President of the Republic, Akufo-Addo burst into laughter with his sense of humor.
The president who graced the fifth edition of the Musicians’ Union of Ghana (MUSIGA’s), annual Presidential Grand Ball, burst into laughter after the comedian mounted the stage. Though the night was packed with some legendary Ghanaian musicians including; Nana Ampadu, AB Crentsil, Daddy Lumba and others, the night became even more fun when the King of Ghana’s comedy mounted the stage. After releasing his comedies one after the other, DKB nearly threw President Akufo-Addo on the ‘floor’ when he unleashed his ‘Nima jokes’ at the night. The president was seen laughing from start to finish until the comedian exited the stage. DKB who did not disappoint, delivered great performance which obviously saw the first Gentleman of the land enjoying himself as he was seen laughing to release some stress.
The comedian who pulled out a joke about President Akufo-Addo’s stays in Nima, a suburb of Accra said one day the ‘spirit’ of the local area will take over the president to face off with his NDC critics in a rather aggressive manner.
President Nana Addo who resides in Nima seemed to relate with what the comedian said which threw him on the ‘floor’ with a laughter. Complete satisfaction was written all over the faces of patrons who witnessed DKB’s weekend performance. The Musicians’ Union of Ghana put together fund raising dinner every year dubbed the Presidential Ball to raise funds for the ‘Aging Musician’s Welfare Fund’, as well as the MUSIGA Academy.
